Symptom

You use the phonetic search (BDT search help). However, you notice that the search help does not work correctly. After you enter the search values, the system generates the message ‘Enter Search Criteria’.

Entries are missing in the table TPZ1.
Solution

You have to maintain the Customizing table TPZ1. The table contains the rules for creating the phonetic string. You can fill this table according to your requirements. In this note, entries are proposed that are optimized for the generation of the phonetic search string for the German language.
In the SAP Implementation Guide, navigate to the entry “SAP Business Partner for Financial Services -> Settings for Financial Services -> General Settings -> Business Partner Search”. Then select the IMG activity “Set Phonetic Search”. Compare the entries in the table with the following entries, which are optimized for the German language, and add any missing entries as necessary:
