Symptom

It was possible to create empty datasets for P45 tax data. This was causing an error during Payroll Snapshot Creation. The tax code for P45 was not marked as a mandatory field.
Also it was necessary to maintain either of P45/P46 tax data, as per the requirement.

Reason and Prerequisites

It should not be possible to create empty P45/P46 datasets as they cause an error in the Payroll Snapshot Generation. Also it should be ensured that only P45 or P46 data is maintained for any employee and not both. Tax Code needed to be made a mandatory field for P45.

Solution

Empty dataset creation of P45/P46 has been stopped. Also checks have been put in place to ensure that only one of P45/P46 is created at any given point of time.
