Reason and Prerequisites
The existing report for initial download of product models, CFG_ERP_INITIALISE_DB, uses a function module that transfers the data through XML conversion and reconversion. A new function module has been developed which does away with the XML conversion logic and directly accesses the data from the table. The standard report does not make use of thie nes function module.
Solution
The report has been suitably modified to use the new function module developed for this purpose. Please apply the note. Once done, the report for initial download will make use of the new function module which will result in an improvement in performance for downloading large models.
IMPORTANT :
This note may not be suitable for use in all systems/scenarios. This would be particularly advisable to use in cases where the models are very complex.
