Symptom
The F4 help for industry does not display any results although industries have been maintained in the customizing.
Other terms
BUPA_INDUSTRY_SECTOR_B, SEARCH HELP, F4, BUPA_F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_INDSECTOR, INDUSTRY,
Reason and Prerequisites
The error occurs only if thousands of industries have been maintained in the table TB038. The search help has been designed to first search for the industries and then filter them according to the logon language.
By default, only 500 records are returned. In case the there are no records in the logon language within the 500 hits, the search returns an empty list. Also, the search can only work for a maximum of 9999 records. In scenarios where there are several languages maintained, there may be no records of the logon language even in the first 10,000 hits. Hence, the search result is empty.
