Symptom

If BP has a tax classification for which there is a valid condition record determined from condition table SAPX0102 (Country/ BP Tax Group) then tax exemption certificates are NOT used.There will NOT have EXEMPT_BASE , TaxElements->License, ValidTo, ValidFrom and ReasonCode filled. Exempt tab will be created but no exemption certificate is filled except reason code will be filled.

Reason and Prerequisites

The system erroneously assumes exemption reason blank even if generic exemption is there.
Solution

This issue is solved as of SAP_AP 700 SP16 and onwards.
please apply the latest IPC patch as described in note 880749.The Tax Exemption Certificate functionality is only valid from SP16 onwards,so previous SPs do not require this patch. As a prerequisite of this note customer has to have CRM 700 EhP1 SP00 for CRM billing components and CRM order components.
